PP&M Description

This is our leadline program for kids ages 4-6 and a +participating adult. This program offers an opportunity to introduce young kids to horses and ponies in a safe but social environment.

Children will receive mentoring in grooming and safety around ponies, and go for a short ride on the pony in our enclosed riding arena with an instructor leading the pony. We use fun activities such as tossing a tennis ball into a bucket to develop coordination and balance while riding and give the kids age appropriate work sheets (puzzles etc) to work on while waiting their turn to ride. We have special activity days such as bath day so kids have time for peer interaction. Parents are also encouraged to participate in grooming and learning to handle the ponies as their children progress (so wear safe shoes!).

We typically schedule sessions when there is enough demand, so please fill out our Parent, Pony & Me enrollment form (below) if you are interested in participating in the next class. Check the current status of the next class at the top of this page.

Program Information:

  1. $30.00 registration/administration fee (non-refundable).
  2. $10.00 fee per participant per class - no commitment required, simply *RSVP prior to a scheduled "Parent, Pony & Me" class. Cancellations after RSVPing are $5.00.
  3. **Class length is aprox 1 hour. Weather cancellations possible.
  4. Kids need an ASTM-SEI helmet to ride the ponies, must wear closed sturdy shoes, and appropriate clothing (shorts / pants - no bathing suits - no sun dresses/skirts) in order to participate.
  5. +The child's 'adult' must stay on the grounds and actively supervise the general behavior of their children. While we do not expect this age range to stay fully focused, we need the parents help to be sure all the kids are safe and polite with one another. :)
